Meet Liz
Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Dorn Parker, Ed.D. has dedicated much of her career to working for both public education and non-profit organizations supporting education.
Liz recently retired from her job at Orange Coast College Foundation as a foundation development, alumni and outreach specialist.
From 1982 to 2014, Elizabeth served as an elected trustee on the Orange County Board of Education. During She was elected to leadership positions as President of O.C. School Boards Association and President of the California County Boards of Education. She worked to outreach and collaborate with business leaders, educational organizations, institutions, and legislative initiatives and laws on the local, state and federal levels
Liz has an extensive history of being active in the community. Currently, she is a member of the Samueli Academy Board of Education, a public charter high school serving foster and low-income students through innovative project-based learning. She serves as vice-chair of Costa Mesa’s Parks and Community Services Commission. She has also volunteered her time as a board member and vice president of the Newport Harbor High School Foundation and board member and president of Newport Harbor Baseball Association and AYSO Soccer Region 97, and is a member of the Costa Mesa Women’s Club and the local Lion’s Club.
Liz received her Bachelor’s degree in Art History from University of California, Los Angeles, a Master’s in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a Doctorate in Education with a concentration on Community College Leadership at California State University, Fullerton.
